I Will Teach You To Make A Documentary

by Joey on August 25, 2008

The final day turned out to be the busiest.

First, early this morning, was Ramit Sethi from I Will Teach You To Be Rich. We talked about how life hacking relates to money, how people my age are pretty clueless about it, and why it’s okay to spend $21,000 a year going out.

Next, we visited some coworking ‘offices,’ with Eddie Codal at Hat Factory (the first full time co-working center) and Sean Savage at PariSoMa. PariSoMa was a little more formal than Hat Factory, but you can’t beat an office fully furnished with IKEA.

I also had a cool talk with Silona, who seems to know everyone in the Web 2.0 world.

We then went to the Twitter offices to meet with Biz Stone, one of the co-founders, but he had to run to go be on Fox to talk about Obama announcing his VP via text, so we had to come back later because apparently national news is more important than a little doc.

When we did return, we had a nice talk and saw the super cool Twitter offices. So Web 2.0.

In the evening, the final interview was ironically where it all started, with Danny O’Brien, coiner of the word ‘life hacks.’ To keep the irony going, he was probably the most disorganized interviewee.

But he started it all, and without him, this documentary wouldn’t be happening.

Wow, finally I’m linked on the same page as sarcastic (and informed) UK techno-journo hero Mr O’Brian. NTK was unmatched – but maybe we can produce a French-inspired version out of PariSoMa.
P.S. Our blog has now moved to http://www.parisoma.com
